Title: To Cut Or Not To Cut?

Alright. Here's the footnotes on me. I've wanted short hair for ages, but I've been too chicken to whack it much above my shoulders. I think there are a few reasons for this. One: I had a short, boyish cut when I was 13, and the pictures of me from that time look terrible. Maybe I was just a funny looking kid, but still. Two: Ever since then, my mom tried to steer my away from that. Yeah, I'm an adult now, in college and paying for my own haircuts, but I think that might have effected me in some way. Three: I'm afraid I'll miss it. The lamest excuse of all.
I don't want it super short, just a layered chin-length bob. I *think* I have a heart shaped face, and I've heard that style works well with it. And layers are always fun. And a few photos of me. Everything's still pretty much the same, except my hair is dark red now.

I like how it is now, but I don't really think cutting it would make it look terrible. I just think it would look better if you kept it how it is now. It's a pretty hairstyle. ^_^ My two cents.

I like the current cut, but if you shortened it, it wouldn't be the worse thing. After all, hair grows back.

Some people might think this is crazy but when I get the itch to cut my hair I do it. It might not always be the best cut or sometimes I feel like the most beautiful I have ever been. Really I think it’s a matter of luck. I have really fine hair and when I had a bob I liked the fact that it gave the illusion of more hair. But then again I longed for my beloved ponytails.
But if you have it in your mind, I say go for it! Hair grows back and at least this way you can say you’ve done it at least once.

I'm that way with color, which really makes a lot less sense. I mean, it does go back to normal eventually if you get a cut you don't like. Color is harder to undo without ruining your hair.
Then again, I accepted long ago that the way I think never makes sense.

That story is SOOO similar to my own it's scary XD. When I was younger I had seriously frizzy hair but then decided to cut it thinking that it'd turn out better. In the end, I turned out looking like a middle school Mrs Brady which during the super straight, super blonde craze.. was hardly cool. I remember wearing a hat everyday I could and french braiding once it got long enough.
But- that being said, last year I decided to try it again, and behold! My hair turned out great. So I'd definitely say give it a try. Besides- with all the hair products out there, if you really do muck things up, there's always a way to style it.

I like it the way it is, but I understand the need to cut it all off sometimes. (We're talking about the girl who walked into the shopping center on a bad day - with hair four inches below her shoulders, and came back with it to her chin. Someone spotted the 50% off hairdressing...)
Speaking from the experience above, I wouldn't recommend it. I still miss my hair. Mum was mean, and showed me pictures of it when it was long and beautiful... *cries*
Anyhoo, if you have the need to do it - just to see it - then despite all that, I say do it! It shouldn't take extremely long to grow back to what it is now, you can't really lose much from it. And as Amayademorte said, there's always a way to style things so they look a little better.

I think it would look nice. If you don't like it, it will always grow back anyway.

Haha, me too! Really when it comes to my hair it is like a blank canvas to be used and abused as I see fit. I love to change up my color and cut. Like I said before I have fine hair so while I woulde like to have long lush locks, really the longer my hair is the stringier and flat it gets.

I had a good experience with my shorter layer-y cut. I had them cut it based-off a hairstyle of
Elisha Cuthberts (I'm a natural blond, btw), and I loved it. I hadn't had it that short since I was three, so, you know... It was weird getting used to, but I got so many compliments and it suited my face better and looked a lot healthier.
Got it 'trimmed' more recently, without showing the photo to work off of, and they misunderstood it and gave it a rather blunt bob that I'm not so fond of. but my hair grows fast, and I can almost get my old style back. ^^
Just try and find a style you really like to work with your face. My face isn't exactly delicate, and so shorter hair works better for me. But you won't know until you try.
