Mm, so..I am trying to make a character using Gackt as my model. I can't think of a good name; I don't want those cliche Japanese names like, "Ryuu" or anything. I want a generic name; something simple and something that fits Gackt's image. I have a loose personality in mind but..a little help would be nice too.

try the website behindthename.com ^_^, they also have a section for japanese names. I'm sure you'll be able to find something there to your liking. I always use that website to find a characters name. You can also go to 'surnames.behindthename.com to find surnames in for different languages/cultures.

Then pick the one that has most in common with your name. Like, amount of letters or certain letters or whatever. That's what I do. :p Or post any name ideas here and see which one other people like.

And he's sort of cocky..a dare devil and kind of..mentally unstable. He see's the world through a pair of diluted eyes. Sophisticated, yet slightly insane.

Hnn..I'm at a tie between Cain and Gabriel. I like Gabriel because it's an "angelic" sort of name, and that it contradicts his personality. I have an odd taste in names..and personalities, I suppose. But I do like Cain as well...

yeah, i agree with sunny. lol i'd narrowed it down to those two first names, as well, but i think the combination of the two just sounds better.

I go to a Japanese translation site to locate character names. I have 4 Japanese characters. Each one has a different name, but contradicting abilities.

Hikari Moriyaku
Kaimu Moriyaku
Kaika Tekuragari
Barakei Tekuragari
Sometimes just blending in two different words make a great name. Barakei's name is two words combined into one. Bara = Rose and Kei = Thorn.

I'd go with Cain personally, but I do find something odd about how you came to your question, almost as if I'd seen that description elsewhere...
