Title: Rpg-d Idol

Okay, this may sound really crazy but I am crazy sometimes, so that's okay. :p Read on for craziness.

This is my idea: RPG-D would have an RPG-D Idol. Like American Idol. Except not singing. Instead of singing, the contestants every week have to do something forum related. For example, create an application template or maybe write an original plot, or something like that. Every week. Then the judges say what they think about the piece and post that for members to read. Then members have maybe 48 hours to PM their votes for contestants that made a piece they liked to a certain staff member who will then count them up. Then a staff member will announce the one contestant that got the lowest votes and they will be kicked off and the show will continue like that every week with one less contestant every week. So, ya.

It's practically AI except you don't sign songs, but do forum and roleplaying related things.

Crazy, huh? Well, whatever. ^_^ What do you think?

Thanks, Lea

P.S. I hope that made sense. :rice:

Hehe. -resists RPG-D Idle joke-

It's a good idea Lea but I don't think it'd be feasible to implement. Just with the forum of the week you had people signing up multiple accounts and sending people over just to vote. And if it devolves into a popularity contest, things would just get ugly.

I've never seen an episode of American Idol, but this sounds like it could be fun if we could get the flaws worked out.

For a while now I had the idea to maybe get some sort of big contest up 'RPG of the Year' or something XD. A big contest where forums owners can sign up for, get a team together, and do challenges/assignements etc. (so what sunny mentions) Everytime a team wins, they go through to another round, eventually there'll be a big finally between two teams, the winner wins some great prizes.

For this I have a great idea to get around double signed up accounts to vote. The staff can just create a new account that we could call 'vote counter' or something and members can send their vote via pm to this account. This way it's both secure and private to submit your vote ^^.

Would you guys like this?

OMG.

I really like that idea! :o Would be fun! Would the team be be people you could randomly gather, or from your site? :innocent:

Staff and members from your own forum only^^. So now the RPG isn't judged on how it looks or what the RPG is about. (that's what the fotw is more about I suppose) But a forum can win on how well balanced the team is, how experienced they are. So basically the forum teams knowledge, experience and abilities will be tested by various challenges and assignements. Per round it depends what that will be, but it will be something different each round. Assignments/challenges will be getting more difficult and bigger with each round you win ^^.

Hey that sounds really cool too. ^_^ Would there be judges or not?

Awesome. I don't have a forum, but I look forward to seeing how this goes down.

That actually sounds pretty fun. Hope all the kinks get worked out soon.
