Title: Maybe I Should Start Me A Blog
Description: ... StrugglingWriter.com?

Another one of my shower ideas.
We were talking about blogs and such in class today (which is a writing for web publishing class), and my tutor mentioned her brother's blog - which is just his experiences of back problems and such, and the interest that generates and all that...
So blogs were on the mind today. I don't like the usual blogging sites, they bore me... but I do have a spare domain (definition of a nerd: someone who has more than one domain.. XD) and maybe I should branch out into something new and interesting?
My other problem at the moment, is a lack of motivation/ideas to write. So why not combine the two? Here's the idea...
Mousie has her blog, in which she can post random un-edited short stories she writes for feedback. Blog readers can post in ideas for the weekly 'story challenge', in which Mousie must select a topic from the list, and write the next week's short story based on that premise.
There's room to turn it about, and give the Mousie Story Challenge, in which I select a topic - and readers write, and such. I just think it'd be an interesting way of inspiring myself to write non-rp pieces on a regular basis.
But would anyone actually visit, do you think? Meh, even if it does just become lost in Cyberspace... it's interesting to think about...

Personally, I do think that people will visit it. =] I also think that it's a great idea and even if there aren't many people that do, it'd satisfy both yourself and those who visit. ^_^ I also think that perhaps you could have a multi blog, as in, host not only your blog, but other people's too. If you had your own blog as the homepage and use other people's blogs via sub-domains, the more popular their blogs are, the more visitors you'll receive. ;D

I'd visit it, most definatly. It seems like a great idea, especally if you like to write alot, and if you can be that open to ideas that others choose (I know I'm not haha). I say go for it.

It sounds interesting and I don't think it's a bad idea. However, what happens if someone comes over and says that a story is "theirs" because they suggested the topic / won the contest?
:/
I'd definitely check out the page, but I don't think I'd do too much reading just because I'm too lazy. :p (Honesty is the best policy they say, and I suck at reading.)

It's mostly an exercise in getting myself to write regularly again - so I'm not planning on properly publishing anything. Which means that anyone who decides a story is theirs, is welcome to say so -- though there will be guidelines stating that yes, I write the stories -- and all stories will remain my property under the CC license, yadayada.
Maybe next week when I have less assignments, and my baby... I want to have some stuff done up to post already. Uh, something NOT written when I was still in highschool.
I'd also go in an post random notes and observations and the like in there. I don't know what, but I'm always looking for a way to fill time in between (and during) classes!

I think it's a good idea! I also think that getting the readers to do some is a good idea too, because it draws them into the 'action'. I like Ollie's idea too, perhaps for dedicated reader/writers who want to do it as well? I think it's a very good idea for getting the creative muscle stretching.
Perhaps I shall take part in these reader competitions.

It is a good idea, but I think it has been done a few times too many. I know I have seen a lot of blofs by struggling writers, for struggling writers, about writing in general, with challenges and for feed-back. I fear that you would not have much visitors in the long run. But, blogging is fun, and the visitors you did ensnare would, I am sure, enjoy themselves immensely. So, why not? Go for it.

Ditto. Give it a try and I'm sure you'll get lots of good writing practice. I'll visit!
