Basis:

In this rp, one simply EARNS things. Every item, every skill, every special product. To gain them, you head to the fates when you believe you deserve something. The better you are, the more likely to be granted. But time and posting plays a role in this. Just rp... then attempt to gain features you wish.

No system, just earning when you believe you are worthy.

What I need you to decide:

1. A good name for this.
2. A great startup plot.
3. Advice how the land should be structured.


I will make this ONLY if enough people tell me it's a good idea.

Do you need a good name for the system? How about "Rewards & Earnings" or something along those lines? I don't have a plot for you atm as I'm about to go to bed but I'm going to give you a possible genre. This sort of system always works for Medieval/Fantasy roleplays. It could work, yeah, as for the land thing that'd have to go with a plot that you have in mind. Sorry for the rushy post, gah, go to go. Sorry again! :sweat:

Do we need to think up name and a plot for you? I think that's something you could better decide after people think your earning system is a good idea or not.

I think it would work, and it would be interesting. But you have to do it right. Like, what kind of genre RP are you thinking about? If it's fantasy, you need things like magic, weapons and that kind of stuff. But if it's a sci-fi you need a completly other set of earnings for the characters.

I suppose this would only work well if you really explain properly how it works on your board. Next to an interesting plot and a catchy board name, this would work.

If you work this out well, this could be an interesting roleplay. But be sure to create an interesting surrouding for people to RP in, an interesting plot and make your board appearance as attractive as possible.

I've actually seen this idea before (at least the part about going to the Fates to get certain abilities) and it was somewhat based off of Charmed. Um, I personally like the idea, but I wouldn't base off of Charmed since the site didn't seem to do well.

Like ShinLi said, make an interesting plot to go with it. The system shouldn't be the basis of the site, just something it is that makes it different from other RPs.

You're trying to think of a plot, then? Take the generic kingdom versus kingdom plot. Those always seem to work! Throw in a splash of magic, swordplay, and everybody's favorite dragons! If you sit down and think for a while, you'll soon find the plot that you can happily roleplay to.

Does anything come to your mind, Devvy? You want futuristic fantasy, medieval fantasy, or something all your own? If you're into a particular series, you could always make a roleplay based on that if you're stuck for ideas. :):

Oh, and, by the way, don't listen to the two people who said your idea may never work. It will work if you make it.

I'll have to see it in action, personally, so I voted neutral. It all depends on how you implement it, surrounding plot, how good the rest of the RP is, etc. If you can get it to work, that's great. If not, well, it was a pretty good idea anyway that someone else may get to work.

It looks like a good idea to me, but like Mortal and ShinLi said, try coming up with your own plot for your board. That truly makes an RPG something you created, and it's half the fun.

I voted "Yes, make this." because I think it's a good idea, and I think you could make it work really well. I think it'll be better if you come up with a plot, name and such yourself, because it needs to be something of your own creation entirely -- and something you know that you yourself like the idea of. If you're having problems coming up with further plotting ideas, sit down and brainstorm for things you'd like to include in it, or what type of RPG it might be. :)

I'm nuetral because I've never seen a successful rp set up like that and I don't know if people would completely understand/feel tempted to join it. That's just me though. If you expand on the fates theory and have a plot that requires you to have certain abilities or something, maybe it will be more entertaining?

They work, but I personally don't like them...

But, as people have said, it needs a good plot to go with it.

I don't like them because I feel they are too restrictive.
