Just out of interest, how do you deal with spambots at RPG-D?
I had a z10 board (and still do - archive now though) and I found that I was bombed by a lot of spambots. Now I am off IF I have installed a better CAPTCHA system, but you don't seem to get many spambots at all.
What's your secret?

We do, in fact! In the staff thread we have 'archives' where we instantly move any spam posts we find into. The members help by reporting these posts. Then we go to the 'spambot posts' thread and post a link to the post we have just trashed. ShinLi then bans the IP (I think).
Just a disclaimer: if you see a spambot post, there's a good chance you don't want to open it because nowadays they post pr0n in them. :sweat: Found out the hard way.

I donīt ban IPīs, but I ban the ends their e-mail adresses as a wildcard, for instance *@yadayada.com. And delete their accounts.
But nowadays most bots seem to register with gmail accounts, thats so annoying ><. We've had a lot of spam, but it seems to be a big quiet now with spam luckily. And Yep it seems to be a lot of porn nowadays ><, that's the most annoying of all the spam.
But our banlists are full with wildcard e-mail adresses already, so that also keeps out quite some bots I think.
