Title: I'm In The Mood For Trebuchet Ms Today...
Description: Yesterday I was in an Arial Narrow mood.

Sunday - March 18, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
First -- I'm well aware I'm a pretty strange person in my own ways. I figure this is one of those things that only I do, and that other people think is weird; but I also think some people also might share my OCD... ness.

So. Do any of you find yourself in a "mood" for a certain font?

Recently, I've been writing everything in Trebuchet MS size 10 (on word processor programs). Previously, I had been writing everything in Arial size 9 and Georgia size 7 depending on if I was in a serif or sans-serif mood.

I see this as the same way I'm obsessed with pens. Sometimes I can only write with ballpoints, other times I can really only use rollerballs. And then other times I really just want to use lead, but then that differs, as well, because sometimes I want a mechanical pencil (and then I deal with size of the lead), but other times I just want a normal Ticonderoga one (the best pencils in the world, just FYI), but then I have to decide whether I need it supersharp or round and dull.

Then sometimes I can only write with one sheet; other times I need a few pieces stacked to make the paper 'softer.'

MAYBE I AM A FREAK. :[ lol.

No, but when I saw your post I was suddenly in the mood for my favorite siege weapon!

Hmm...I have a similar problem...Currently my board is simply on Tahoma whilst my Microsoft Word is size 9 Verdana...I'm quite bland with my fonts...

Though I have an obsession for capital J's and how they should look -- it's really strange

But I fully agree on the softer paper thing...It's always the case with me!

I am some like you? To a certain extent. I have a whole range of pens which I really shouldn't because my messenger bag is too small...but I use them depending on what I feel like. Sometimes I can't stand writing with a pen and want to use pencil, sometimes I hate blue pen and must write in black, sometimes I really want to see blue. Not quite the same, but a little!

I get it with fonts on Photoshop. I'll find that I keep going back to the same font, over and over again, and then a few days later I won't like it anymore and I'll use a different font over and over.

I do that with the paper, too. I don't have a problem if the surface underneath is completely smooth but if there is any texture I have to have my paper on more paper.

I'm only like that with lipgloss >.<
I once had 14 different kinds of lipgloss in my purse at once, and had to try and explain to someone how I needed all of them to match my moods and occasions. For example, Dr. Pepper chapstick can't be worn when you're sad. It just can't. Sparkly pomegranate lipgloss from VS can't be worn in AP Calc, it's like a law.

I gave up lipgloss for lent so that really doesn't matter, but I do, in an odd sort of way, understand the OCD.

Can't say that I have unless you count food. Some days I just refuse to eat certain things. -_-

Oh, and ballistas are where it's at.

Well, not exactly, LOL. Century Gothic really is my favourite font, but right now, I'm sticking to the board font. But as for clothes, I'm really picky. I love wearing black (hey, I'm not gothic or anything!) but of different patterns. ;)

i've been in a very trebuchet ms size 7pt lately to be quite honest. before that it was tahoma 7pt, and before that georgia 8pt.. i also went verdana for a while, but i like tahoma more than verdana, so when i use fonts like those two, i tend to stick with tahoma...

Yes!! Oh thank god I'm not insane!! (Well..that is still in question). I can no longer stand any font over size 10. I got stuck on Verdana for ages, Courier New before that. I'm currently Arial size 9. I cannot stand Times New Roman *shudders*. And all my word pages have to be at 86% for me to read them! :p

I'm always in the mood for Georgia. I don't know why it looks so Chich. . same thing with Century Gothic.

But Comic Sans. . . *shudder*

Mousie - April 1, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
I had a love affair with Century Gothic, it's readableness is just so... awesome. I'm currently on an Optima/Georgia streak... or whatever that one I used the other day was, because it was simply awesome... and I forget already, which shows how much I care.

But back when I used to write things down, I had eight different colour pens, and headings had to be in one colour, emphasised parts in another, general text in yet another still, large headings had a colour all to themselves...

My teachers used to get annoyed with me swapping pens all the time..

I haven't read the rest of the thread, but .. it's kind of a designer thing? I mean, regardless of whether or not you want to major in it, you're exposed to it (maybe even make it .. do you make your own graphics? o_O for some reason I don't know, and I feel like I should) a lot via RPing and, yeah. I go to art school and am a graphic design major, so I'm surrounded with people who do things like this .. and it's kind of comforting sometimes because then you know you're not totally crazy. xD

I also yell out fonts I see at Wal-Mart. My HS friends think I'm nuts, but all my GD major friends toootally understand. And yes .. I do go through font moods. ;]

Emma - April 3, 2008 04:25 AM (GMT)
I don't yell them out, but I do tell everyone about the fonts I recognise and also the models. I'll be walking down the street and I'll see an ad and announce 'oh look, that's Julia Stegner!' and all my friends look at me as though I'm crazy. Same with fonts. Or 'oooh I have that font! It's so-and-so'.

Royle - April 3, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
I've had a major preference for Tahoma recently however, as I was skimming through my fonts to find an overly large one (history coursework. +__+), I found an amazingly readable yet nice looking font. I'll look through again later and tell you guys what it is. :p

I'm always in a Verdana mood. At least, I'm always in a Verdana mood on microsoft word. I use almost a thousand different fonts on Photoshop so... I'm rarely in a mood for just one. Sometimes I'm in a mood for a certain kind (bitmap, gothic, cursive etc) but never just one.

I can understand it though.

comic sans MS for the win!
