Title: [S] "auto Sort" Problem

MichelleGentry - March 2, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
Ok, so I just joined as an admin on a forum I didn't help make. The problem is that everytime a new member joins, they don't get put into the 'new member' group. Instead they get put in a group for those who have already applied and been accepted. How do I get the forum to automatically put new members into the right group?

Help please!

I think that the other admin might've changed the normal 'member' group name to the accepted member group, but this can't be changed, because there are five default groups when you first register a forum (guests, members, validating, admin and banned).

To change this you have to change the member group you use for the accepted members back to the normal member group (so you have to use that one for newly registered members). And make a new member group for the accepted members. Do look over the permission masks though afterwards! So that you make sure the newly registered members can't post anywhere, and the new group (for accepted members) that they can post in the RP section.

I hope you understand, if not give me a screenshot of your member groups in the acp and I'll try to explain it via that.

To give you an example, here on RPG-D, you have the "New Arrivals' Group and the 'RPG-D Member' Group. In essence the New arrivals is the default 'member' group, only renamed. And the RPG-D Member group is a new group I made for members to be moved into after they made 15 posts.
