What sort of quirky things do you do when typing -- in IMs, or just in general?

When I IM people, I do the :O face ALL THE TIME. Not even when I'm shocked or anything. Just because, lol. So how about you?

EDIT: I also say "haha" way too much.

lol i started to type this out and i just deleted it all, because i realised i was doing it. I do loads of "..." All the time. The first time i wrote this out it had LOADS and then i was like " ... " and i ended up deleting it all and here is this text now :innocent:

I laugh, a lot. Sometimes that's all I reply with. lol, lmao, haha, whatever. I also do a lot of dotting, and unnecessary hitting of the enter key. Like, I can't seem to string to sentences together before hitting it.

I'm sure I do other stuff too. But I can't think of it.

I usually end up switching between using capitals and not. It really depends on how bothered I can be. But that's just during IM's and on non-RPG forums. Whilst I roleplay, I for some reason always use capitals. xD I always seem to add x.0 somewhere too. I'm not really sure what it is, though I'd imagine that it's a combination of these two smilies:

Maybe something along the lines of

ooh awesome! o.O + x.x = lolz thats cool. I tend to use -->> :sweat: alot... or :rice: at the end of my speech... heh i just really like the rice guy x.x

I tend to use smilies, say 'lol' a lot, and I think those are really all of the bad habits I have online. Except people go on about things I don't know/like/understand. Then I say "oh, that's nice" or "Mk. . ."

I seem to use XD a lot - which used to be a smilie til they took it away from me.. but I use it on MSN and all. I also tend to write 'hehe' a lot when I have nothing else to say, which drives other people barmy - especially those who think it seriously means I'm laughing.

I tend to type lol a lot even when something's not funny. I also have been told that I put a lot of '...' Really it's not my fault though, just habit. Lately I've been using a lot of -'s lol

I use ^_^ a lot. ANd I hate how it's a stupid smilie! The smilie looks nothing like the emotion. -glares- It has been suggested I use ^.^ instead but ^_^ is so easy! -rampages-

Also XD. Moreso ^_^. Always. I rarely do not use them. If I am writing things which are not comfortable I write 'umm'

I haven't used 'lol' or any version of that in probably two years this April. I hate them as they are textspeak and grar. I use Wa ha ha ha or haha very often, as Mousie does.

I also use the =/ when I've written something that's describing me being naughty or doing something silly.

I use a lot of:

- Kekeke!

...As you can also probably see, I'm also an abuser of smilies/emoticons. "xD" also tends to get longer and longer depending on how funny I find something. If it's super funny, it either ends up as, "xDDDDDDD" or even worse, "xDDD!!!!!!" or something like that. Ahem. I guess since it's so hard to express tone over the 'net, I go all exaggerater crazy!

I get teased mercilessly for it all the time! In fact, one day me and another friend (who also abuses smilies) tried to see how long we could go without typing aaaany smilies. I won. She couldn't do it. So I mean I can type without any problems without any emoticons, but that doesn't express emotion nearly as well! D8

The emoticon thing happened when I got sick of typing "LOL" and "LMFAO", which I abused all the time, aaand...needless to say, I never actually, y'know, "lmfao-ed" and rarely actually "lol-ed" when I typed those.

I like to use 'eheheheheehehehe' or 'ahehehehehehehehe'. Think Teddy from 'Stand By Me'. That's my crazy laugh.

And I make little laughs when I don't really have anything to say, or don't feel like talking. Or 'mmms' and 'hmms' or 'cool'.

And I'm sorry, but lol & lmao are just so fun. Especially when you sound them out/say them out loud. It's just amusing. So is rotflmao (which I like to call falaffle, for some reason). Just amusing things. Not that I use them when I -talk-. Simply when joking around with certain people (cause, you know, we're weird and nerdy).

I'm not a big smilies person. Usually its ^^, or any variation of the ears, and a couple others. I'm just not smiley hip.

Oooh, and kikikik, since my friend and I kept spelling lol wrong one day, we now often use kik instead. Which is fun.

For one I use "..." a lot, and then I tend to use the :) smiley a lot. It's just so cute! And I use this one: :D . x.x But anyway, I use a lot of smileys. They're just so cuuuuute! :)

Edit: Oh yes, I also like to use :rice: at the end of each post for some reason. I also use "ummm" a lot. And I use "teehee" a lot. Odd.

I think I abuse Mwahahah, Bwahahahah 8D and Indeed. Oh man do I love to use the word Indeed and I don't know why it happens, but it just does. It also can make for a lot of awkward strange moment when you just say "Indeed." and that's it. It's almost like putting *Crickets Chirping* really. Oh, I also like to use *Poke* a lot, just because it's fun! Some people hate it, some people like it, I've had one person on AIM take complete and utter offence to me using the word *Poke*.

I don't even kid about that. Things were fine, I typed out *Poke* to them, and suddenly I'm this horrible monster who invades personal space, who takes no consideration for people. I don't even know what the heck happened, all I know is that I just...stopped talking to that person pretty much five minutes after. >_>

I'm definitely addicted to "...". Sometimes that's my only reply to people. ... I also do a lot of extended words, such as "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! What's uppppppppppppppp?" And I 'lol' all of the time, but if I actually do laugh out loud, it's "lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". I also use the familiar old emoticons: :p :) :o . And yeah...

When I'm posting in a forum I get emotional. So if my character is angry I'll yell at my computer and people around me while if they are sad I get depressed.

When talking out of character or im I do a lot of o.O

I use XD like, all the time in IMs. It ends nearly everything. And, if not that smiley, some other smiley does. I can't end most sentences without a smile. Probably because I have a kind of sarcastic humor sometimes, but I never mean to offend. And since my tone of voice can't be expressed through text too well, I put smileys. Otherwise people think I'm bitchy, when I'm so not. Hahaa.

I don't normally use the picture smileys, but I'll use =D a lot. Or XP or =P. Or ^_^, though if I'm uber happy, it goes like ^___^.

On IM conversations I'll use : p (or =p) a lot. It's a life-saver when I can't think of anything to say. Using an ellipsis is also good.

I don't use lol, lmao, etc. If I'm being sarcastic I'll use lawl or something of the sort.
Since I don't use abbreviations, I'll go "hahahahahahahahahaha!" or something like that if something is hilarious.

When I type something fast I also tend to hammer the keys. :p

I use smilies a lot and they don't reflect my exterior at all because I don't really react while in front of the computer - I frown, a lot! - (unless it's something really funny, then I start laughing out loud all of the sudden like a mad person) but they are a reflection of what I'm feeling. :sweat:

I use the word "lawl."

I type "haha" way too much. It's like some sort of... odd, natural instinct. I don't even realize I'm typing it sometimes!

I use the :p smiley waaaay too much. I've often joked that the inside of my monitor should be sparkling clean it gets licked so much in my IM windows. :p

I also cannot (for the life of me!) use my right shift key. Even when capitalizing the letter Z, I use the left shift key. The bad part is... I don't even notice the weird hand contortions I do to pull it off. :p

I use the expression "BAHAHAHA!" way too much. But then I have a habit for "lol" ... which is kind of confusing, but hey...

I also just randomly come out with phrases...Like, "Ooer" or (the one I nicked from Cars...ahahaa..) "Kachow!"

And then there's the matter of using French, German and Spanish...I always seem to say "bonjour/hola/ja/oui" instead of English...I have no idea why. It's just become a habit - it's really weird!

Something that bugs me about my own typing is I always type 'ello when I'm saying hello. That or hola. :)

Well, generally in IMs, I tend to say "HAHAHA" or "LOL" a lot for some reason. Even though it isn't really funny, I just put "LOL" for fun, LOL. [There goes me =.=] Saying "LMAO" or "ZOMG!" is also a common thing you can find coming from me. And then if I hear lame stuff, I go " sweat. =.= "

I love using smileys too, such as ' XD! ' , ' :D ' , ' :) ' and ' ;) '.

On Msn when I forget what I'm typing I send the pig wink three times. It's a secret code.

I go face crazy. And when I say crazy, I mean crazy. o_o; I'm in better control of myself these days, but when I'm excited the faces start rolling out. Especially the shifty eyes >_> and the =O and the =D, =3, xD, and =]. When I'm feeling down, it's the ._. and when I'm like guhh it's =_=.

Then I do this obnoxious 'MAHAHA' or 'lololol' when things are 'extra funny'.

i always say what i write, and when i do a smiley, i often well.. do that smiley in real life. or try. because i've come to realize that x.x is a very hard smiley to do, because... i can't make my eyes look like x's :sweat:

I tend to add the none graphics smilies, for example; =] =D ^__^ ^-^, etc. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else I do.. Maybe if someone spots something? xD

I've spelled words completely backwards by accident & have no idea how it happened.

What really annoys me is when I'm text messaging, I tend to put ~ <-- these things at the end of each sentence. It's become a habit.
