Title: Naming My Gerbils!
ShinLi - February 18, 2008 11:06 AM (GMT)
I'm so excited, in about a month we'll be getting two male gerbils, right before my birthday ^_^. But because I love you guys, I thought why not get the help from you all to name our two new gerbils?
One will be a white male with red eyes, and the other a male light Argente, sort of very light orange with a white belly.
So, I'm curious to see what you guys might come up with! :clown:

You should name one of them Trogdor! XD I had a hamster named Trogdor, and it always made people laugh.
TROGDOR the HAMiNATOR. From Strongbad's TROGDOR the BURNiNATOR. *snort*
The video is rather inspiring. And completely retarded, but totally worth watching if you get the chance.
Or, you could do something really sickeningly cute like making names so that when you say them together it makes a word. Like Kit and Kat...Though those are feminine names, if you ask me. Not Kit so much as Kat.
Or you can do something like Buzz and Woody. Timon and Pumba. (Ah, must love the Disney movies).
Chip and Dale?

Ahhh! We used to have Gerbils, but be careful! Might want to consider getting them neutered because we didn't get ours done and one attacked and killed the other a year or so down the line. He possibly ate some of him, though I can't quite remember. Very pleasant.
Nibbles and Killer
Starshine and Rainbow Brite! (Because Gerbils are soooo MS! and let's give them a complex while we're at it)
George Michael and Elton John? ^_^

I think that's because you got them from a pet store? Or at least from people who had pups, but the parents came from a pet store. Those gerbils are all inbreed upon inbreed upon inbreed. Meaning that they are quite aggressive. It can go well a long time, but they might fall out eventually due to bad genes. Those gerbils also have more health problems. I'll be getting mine from a breeder who specialises herself in breeding with Gerbils. I always read into getting an animal before getting it. In general I know that getting animals from a pet shop isn't the greatest idea. If you get properly bred gerbils with papers, there won't be anything wrong, and getting them neutered only costs extra.
... I could go on and on about that lol. Makes me so frecking annoyed lol. Not your fault, but the fault of those stupid pet shop owners.
One reason why I'm starting with the course Animal Care next year lol.

Hmm...How about Loki or Weasley for the orange one. Pyrrhus or Fenix (different spelling for Phoenix) for the one with the red eyes. Oh, how about Gerard and William? And just shorten it to Ger and Bill  .
ShinLi - February 18, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
Ohm my, I really love Loki XD.

I like the name Shiroi, especially for an albino pet. It's Japanese for, 'white', but I love the way it sounds. I would love to have gerbils of my own-- I love rodents. :pink:

Ah, after my brother came up with it for his hamster, I love the name Tik Tik - I think it was actually supposed to be like one of those ontomotapeia things all them hamsters say in Hamtaro, but either way it's cute.
I always thought cute names for a pair of female gerbils would be Piccolo and Fife, but that's not much help...
Oooh, if you wanted one to go with Loki, pick another cool Norse name!
Sindri - means small/trivial or sparkling.
Tyr, Alvis, Alf, Frey... It'd make for an interesting pair of names. ^^ My favorite name from Norse mythology is Skuld, but that's feminine.

Bert and Ernie?
Pinky and Brain? :innocent:

Lol,
I think I'm either going with a greek god names or norse god names ^_^. Something that has to do with sun and light. Because both gerbils are light coloured. And I like mythical names lol.

Ooh, I loved Greek Gods. We had to do a report on them in my latin class. I was Artemis. :) Anyway, Apollo and Helios might be good if you're going with Gods, Apollo can be known as the god of light, and helios is the god of the sun... Tehe
ShinLi - February 29, 2008 03:38 PM (GMT)
Uhhu, defiantly what I had in mind. And if you know me a bit better Apollo is also a little reference to my love of scifi (battlestar galactica). Now lets hope my mum and dad can pronounce them XD, especially Helios. That sounds so much better in English then Dutch. Apollo is pretty much the same in pronounciation though.
