Title: Animation For Icons
Description: A question

Triguntri - February 15, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
I have been using and looking at my Photoshop program and trying to make icons. What I really want is to make animated icons but I don't know how. All I can get is an Image Gallery. Can some one tell me how to make animated icons or show me a link/tutorial and how to?

By the way, I'm using Photoshop Elements.

Hello! I do not have photoshop, so I don't know if photoshop supports animation or not. I use Paint.NET and I know it doesn't. So here is a simple way of making animations... using this program... http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/

I will take this picture user posted image AND this picture user posted image.

Firstly you make the pictures you want in the animation and save them as ".gif"s. You then open the program, as well as your "pictures folder" or wherever you saved it...

You then drag the pictures from your folder into the program... I put in two of the first picture because I wanted it to last longer then the other...

You can then change the loop time and make your animation!

This is how mine came out...

Ulead GIF Animator does the same thing as UnFREEz.

You can't animate in Photoshop. You can, however, use Photoshop and then switch to Image Ready. Here's a tutorial for that.

Hope it helps. :)

I have no idea how to do it on Photoshop. I use GIMP. x.x

But I have Serif Photoplus to make animations and stuff. It works quite well, and is real simple to use. It's a free program, so it doesn't have a ton of amazing effects or anything. But it works to get simple stuff done, and you can always learn how to work your way around that. :]
