Title: Grounded
Description: 2 months =[

I skipped school this morning with my best friend, and we planned it all out very well and were enjoying our day, but the person who called me in sick sounded too young and the attendance office called to make sure I was sick. My mom thought I was at school, trouble pursued. Needless to say, I have a Saturday detention and am grounded for 2 months. I'll miss you all!

[[p.s. My morning was totally worth the Saturday, but not the 2 months without my computer.]]

Owh that sucks.

I skipped school loads of time (not in high school though, but later lol, sorta my college), never got detention or got grounded, my parents could care less, as it's my own problem.

But that still sucks for you! Well good luck!

Showing up for your first class is the key to skipping school. It's like attendance after that doesn't even matter.

I was also fairly successful at skipping school because I was the teacher's pet. For every teacher. Getting out of class was usually as simple as asking for a pass to the library. As long as we weren't testing and the teacher wasn't lecturing, I was approved. I went home and took naps, went to classes that were watching movies instead, worked on projects due for other classes, and generally did what I wanted my junior and senior years. Now, I had to build up allies among teachers, librarians, and staff in general to get to this point, but it was well worth it. I even got caught. But said allies made it so that I've never had a detention or suspension of any kind.

In college you can skip and nobody cares. But it high school it's an art, and I was frickin' Michelangelo. (happy)

And just FYI, I was in NHS, took AP courses, and was generally not a slacker. (cool) I was just really good at what I did. ;)

Also in NHS, am in three AP classes, full ride to college, etc.
My teachers also really like me, but they're more the type to laugh at me and my friend for our Saturday school than try and get us out of it.
We didn't get yelled at by the school at all. The principal looked at us, said "This is very out of character for the two of you", and made us sign the Saturday School papaers.

Yay full ride to college! Those are great until you decide to transfer... ^_^ but I still got two free years of private college, so I'm not complaining. :)

I'm glad my high school didn't have Saturday School. It just seems like a no-win for everyone. I mean, if I were a staff member I'd hate having to come in for Saturday School as much as the kids, probably.

Still sucks that you're grounded for two months, though. :( My mom finally realized that grounding me had little to no effect on changing my behavior sometime around eighth grade....and instead started taking away the books I was reading if I didn't get stuff done. That was very effective. Nothing made me want to clean my room faster than the drive to get a book returned. Slightly evil, but one of the smarter forms of punishment she ever devised.
