Title: Three Cheers For Rpgd!
Description: .. random RPGD love topic.

Every now and then, I think it needs to be said.

We love RPG-D. It's awesome. It's helped many many admins grow into good admins, it's boosted a lot of boards off the ground, and I think that everyone who comes here owes just a little thanks to the admins for their awesome support, and letting us go nutty with our suggestions, discussions and other such nonsense.

Where else can you post your ideas, without being flamed?
Where else can you discuss the very mechanics of RP, without looking like a tool?
Where else do the admins come down from their pedestal and talk like human beings?

Hands up those of you who came here knowing nothing, and made something great? *hand up*.

Even for those who are just players, there's so much here to learn and discover, as well as a brilliant community. With The D (yeah, I gave it a nickname in my head) coming up to it's second birthday.. I think we all oughta step back and give a nice big round of applause to ShinLi and her wonderful team... for giving us something we love!

Three cheers for RPG-D!

THREE CHEERS! =D

I mean, I was telling my friends about roleplaying and they were staring at me like I had three heads. Totally clueless! So I said "Oh it's like acting.. but you write it, not act it." And they went "Ooooh." And went back to their usual whatever-they-were-doings XD

I love RPGD!
Haven't left much since I arrived!! =D

RPGD really helped me find that invision free and ipbfree weren't has hard to understand as I thought! They're so much easier then they seem. Thanks to RPGD, I've got an ipbfree understanding that actually allowed me to make a nice site.

I'll give them an extra cheer. Four cheers for RPGD!

Yes! RPGD rocks! My favorite part is that you can just sit back and discuss RPing without getting funny looks like what often happens in RL. We've all got different opinions, likes, habits, and styles, but we all share one thing: We love to RP! What's really great is how everyone is mature and understanding. A lot of message boards get these pretentious, demeaning members who think they're so cool just because they can insult others in fancy ways, but RPGD doesn't.

I think my brother hates this site, though. We'll be having a conversation about gaming or the internet or RPing (he does MMOs), and I'll say something like, "Oh yeah! We were just discussing this on the RPG-Directory!" or "I said the exact same thing on RPG-D." Then he just sighs and shakes his head sadly. XD

Much love to the friendly and dedicated staff!

HIP HIP HOORAY!

Tigscat X - February 6, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
You won't catch me cheering of going "Hip-Hooray" and so on. Not my style.
But yeah. A big hats of to everyone who participates in this awesome site. I know where to go if I need roleplay tips, services or just to have a general chat.

It's fantastic since everyone is pretty laid back and all share a particular interest roleplaying. :)

By the way....

Be sure to pass on my hate message. ^_^

:p I do both MMOs and RPGs. I do RPGs right now more than MMOs because my stupid graphics card sucks. But yes, muffins for the Admins! [It's a habit we have a SapphireCourt, which is my favorite RPG right now, to congradulate people with Muffins. :p]

Lol, I'll tell him that next time I go home, Tigscat X. (happy) I think he's just jealous that I've got a great place to discuss my hobby and he doesn't. And he thinks it's incredibly nerdy to reference things discussed online. He's a closet nerd, though. One day I will get him to accept his true self!

Yes! Hooray for RPG-D! ShinLi is the most awesomest admin ever and she (along with the other staff members) have made this site into a site I visit every single day and I'm ultra proud to be a new staff member of it.

This is the only forum which has held my attention for long - especially amazing because I usually don't stay at non-RP forums for more than about a week. But in April it'll be a year for me XD

Here's to RPG-D surviving many more years!

Takaro - February 10, 2008 05:03 AM (GMT)
RPG-D Just hooks me up with Roleplays. Thats enough for me, and thats why I love them. Really. Love them.

ShinLi - February 10, 2008 11:41 AM (GMT)
*feels loved*.

Well when you say thanks to us.

I'll say thanks to you guys. We got here because of you, the members! Without you we wouldn't be going for our second birthday here ^_^. So thanks a lot for all of your support, activity and dedication to RPG-D! Let's go for another year, and another and another XD.

Yesterday I talked about RPG-D with my mum (have to understand she's an internet noob), and I was like, isn't it amazing we're almost celebrating it's 2 year birthday. And she was like 'uhh?', and I said 'yeh, it's so amazing, I mean 2 years, it's a really long time, and I'm still not bored, and I don't think I'll ever be.' And she stilled looked at me like 'uhh?'. 'Okay, I'll stop, you don't understand anything of it anyway *sighs*. So yeh, I try, but my parents don't understand either, neither do my classmates, so you guys aren't alone on that.

When you talk to her about something like that, does she do something else and just nods her head and goes "Mmm. Yep" when you are explaining RPG-D - but you know she isn't really listening?
What's more you mention a few days later and she'll be like "What?".
I know that feeling. Fortunately most people support my site (family too).

You'll have to sit her down at the computer desk and give lessons* XD

* = Don't...seriously...

ShinLi - February 10, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
Owh no, she does listen, and tries to understand. But she's never been on the internet, so she can't really make a picture in her mind I suppose with what I tell her.

And I will give her lessons XD, although she doesn't have time yet. I'm quite patient with my mum, and my mum with me. But there's one requirement, if she ever wants to use my laptop, she should buy her own lol. But luckily the computer and the laptop are both mine, as I bought them, so she can't say 'well now it's my time, so butt of the laptop'.

Ok that's off-topic *butts out of topic XD*

Tigscat X - February 10, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
Uh..I'm not patient with my family at all. ><
I hog the computer day and night because I'm the "Genius" in the house when it comes to technology. It drives me up the wall though when I get questions like "Why is it doing this - Why is it doing that?" Blah, blah, blah.
I reply "Works for me" every time because it's usually true. XD

But yeah, I usually have to explain stuff to family, though I haven't tried to explain a message board. I won't even attempt explaining roleplay.

Aaaand I'm going to stop there. I could write pages I swear but I won't because I don't want to drift into "Rant Time".

Another yay for RPD-D! :)

Whhhheewww. :D

So I admit, when I first saw the infamous blue button in circulation, I wasn't very tempted to click it. I wasn't much of an OOC community person, because I could never get into them and they always died before long. But pretty soon I kept seeing this button around, and eventually I had to click. So I browsed around the site for maybe a month, used a few of their resources, and eventually? I just joined. And I haven't left since.

RPG-D is truly amazing in the way that it gives us RPers an outlet to just talk, rant, discuss, get help, and all that mess, for both members and administrators alike. It's very member-oriented, almost as if reigned by popular sovereignty -- it had stuff that we actually want, and staff members that actually listen. And, not only that, but the staff members actually participate, too, like real people, instead of just looming in the background, all high-and-mighty like. Both staff members and veterans alike made me feel very, very welcome as soon as I started posting here, as well as some of the newer members, well. People don't judge you here -- instead, they're here to help, and it's the nicest, most progressive community I've ever seen around. So three cheers to you, RPG-D! You rock my life.

Mmm, I first joined simply because I wanted to advertise. But it was really amazing to find other people who enjoyed RPing and find helpful hints and tips and codes that can make life a little easier for an admin. It's fun to find people who understand why you can't kill off your character, or why you like torturing your characters to make them develop more. Or other little things that you can't discuss with people who don't role play a lot. There are a lot of great people here, and the site itself is run quite smoothly and wisely.

I hope one day I can be able to run a role playing site with just as much professionalism and friendliness and such a welcoming community. So much great information in one place, a well working staff and a great pair of admins. And to be able to keep the site running for two years is an amazing feat since it's quite hard to keep things alive for such long periods of time. It shows that the administration cared about the site a lot and put a lot of time and love into it. I really hope this site sticks around for a really long time, like maybe 100 years. XD Because in a hundred years if I'm still alive then, there will still be people smarter than me with more role playing experience that I can learn from maybe... Unless they all died by then. (x.x) But either way this site is needed for the newbies and the aspiring writers! This site helps bring all of those people together and gives them resources in order to get better and have fun. So keep up the good work!
