Title: Arggggghhhhhhhhhh!

RENTal lot - February 1, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
I was working on my canon list for my site, stupidly not on notepad or anywhere, and I accidentally clicked one of the site links I have above my tabs list and I lost an hour of work on canons! I am so annoyed right now *growls*

Oh well, I guess I learned my lesson for typing it up in a browser...

Shadow of the Rain - February 1, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
Oh no! I hate when that happens! They really should put more space between the tabs and the button links, cuz I've lost posts that way too.

It'd be so awesome if there was a feature people could add, where there would be a "Save to Drafts folder" thing under the post, and everyone had their own personal drafts thing where things could be saved and done later..

I feel for you as it has happened to me many a time, often during website editing. -_-
It sucks. :(

Firefox, people. Firefox. I do that all the time... but in Firefox, one only needs to click the back button... and there it is in all it's glory! Even Fast Replies! It's amazing. :D

But in IE... well, IE is unforgiving.

IE is the worst browser EVER.
It's the only browser that I know of that makes my forum layout looks completely freakish and deformed.

I'm on firefox, but the problem was the skin got changed while I was typing, or something else; since I usually just hit back, but it didn't work. But, never fear, it's been rewritten and better then ever this time!

That's good to hear. I'm glad everything worked out okay for you.

Carey Moffett - February 2, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
Opera has the 'it's still there when you go back' feature too. It's so good!

And that is always the case, RENTal lot. You go back and do it again and it's a million times better. At least God gives us a better end result ^_^

RENTal lot - February 2, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
Fortunately. Ah well, they're original canons, no one will notice if they're not as they originally were meant to be.

Thanks guys. That was kind of annoying because I had nearly finished it.

(smile) Well, good that everything worked out. Good luck in future affairs of the like. (happy)

Not true. It all depends on your time to live setting in your browser. You can set it to cache the page and restore it without loading a thing (i.e. the back button would work even if your internet connection was disconnected altogether), or you could lower the TTL and have it refresh the page and check for new content (and subsequently get rid of the old content in the process). There are advantages and disadvantages for both, so it would be silly to pimp Firefox for a setting that's adjustable for most every browser out there.

I'm a hobbyist developer that uses Firefox 3b2, too, but I use and see the merits to other browsers too. To be completely honest, F3b2 actually skews the layouts of way more sites than anything else I've ever used. It also (perhaps not coincidentally, too) is the fastest damn browser I've ever used.

What you should do is move/remove the bookmarks and links toolbar. I only bring it up when I want to go to one of the bookmarks in the bar.

Wouldn't happen if your browser was w3c strict. You can't blame the browser for bad/non-compliant code.

In radtardedx's defense, IE6 is notorious for mis-adding margins, padding, and borders via CSS. Firefox, Opera, and Safari all add these things outside the designated width and IE6 subtracts them. If you're using a CSS layout then sure, compliant code can show up completely freakishly in IE6. On the other hand, IE7 is much more standards-compliant -- but is also full of memory leads and tends to crash. So really, six of one, half-dozen of the other.
