Title: Why Me Right Now?
Description: ow ow ow

Okay so today i was at my friend's house and she was really sick so I made her Ramen. There was too mush hot water in the bowl and it was gonna overflow so I went to dump some into the sink and the bowl slipped spilling the boiling hot water all over my three middle fingers on my right hand (which i write with...). They're sufficently burnt now to the point i was nearly thorwing up from the pain in dance class which i had right after...
Another friend gave me this prescription strengh cremre stuff which requires me to have bandaged fingers... Why is this such a big deal?
I have an audition tomorrow, a dress rehersal on wednesday and a show on thursday! My fingers look putrid, they are each nicely bandaged, I'm currently sitting here with my hand smouthered in an ice pack, I can only type with one hand (excuse any typos...), and it hurts! :(
Make me feel better?

You're pretty, and I'm sure you're a fantastic dancer, and you're such a nice friend, and Ramen's really yummy, and bandaged fingers are my favorite kind of fingers, and.... is that enough compliment rambling?

Ouch, oh god.
I hate burning myself. I was once making a wax candle and when I got some on my finger I accidentally put it in the boiling hot wax instead of the water. But I didn't have a dress rehearsal soon after.
I hope your hand cures itself or at least is better soon! I hate burns, they're so painful.

Owie! No fun! But the stupid stuff always does seem to happen right when you want it least, so I guess if nothing else, you can count your stupid moments later, and probably won't end up with a moment like my best mate.
She was psyched to be in her first school production, playing a leading role, and a week to show time. Got kicked by a cow, broke her leg, and had to sit the show backstage, mouthing her words as the severely incompetent replacement said them.
No one's gonna be concerned about your fingers, mate. Deal with the pain, make yourself feel better, that's all that matters. :D

I threw a full cup of hot tea over myself this weekend, at my bf's house ><, luckily it cooled down a bit so I wasn't burnt or anything, but it could've been messier if the tea was still hotter then hot.
*huggles* I hope you feel better soon.

I burnt myself last year in chemistry. We were doing some experiment with tea cups, and we put the cup over a flame that was extremely hot (at least a few thousand degrees). Our teacher had already told us not to touch the cup. So the cup falls into the nearby sink, and my first thought is to go and grab it. This is also my second thought, and so I grab the cup. I regret it, as it is extremely hot, and I burn both my writing fingers and spend the next few minutes with my fingers under water. So yeah, it sucked. Really, really, really bad. I feel for you. It did take an awful long time for it to stop throbbing. Hope you feel better.

My skin doesn't always remember how to react to hot things, so I get random results. For example, a baking tray burnt my arm a couple of months back and I have a nasty scar, along with others from cooking burns because it takes me just that little bit longer to feel it (and therefore snatch my hand away). But it just doesn't understand hot water. I can get into a bath of almost-boiled water and in a split second the hot feeling switches off and I feel cold, and my skin doesn't burn. The weirdest incident to date was when the kettle boiled and I lifted it to pour it into a pot, missed and poured it all over my hand. I thought "ouch, that was hot!" and carried on without so much as a red patch on my hand.
I feel for you though, I dance and when I had the burn on my arm every move of the skin on my arm made it hurt. I'll send psychic healing powers, on the offchance that I might have become psychic and therefore do some good. (happy)

Am I the only person who thought Tanya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan when they read the thread title?

Haha. Don't forget Hulk Hogan. (I think. God that was so long ago.)
To the OP, cheer up. If you're worried about looking bad, find a pair of sleek gloves.

You poor thing! *gives cookie* *gives ice cream too, for good measure*
That sucks. I've got a best friend in ballet so I know (secondhand) how hard dancing can be even when you're not in pain! Be strong! I hope you do well at your audition today. Merde!

Aww -huggles- That sucks muchly. Did you try putting aloe vera plant on it? Just before I went on holiday I spilt boiling water all over my thumb but I ran it under cold water and then split a bit of aloe vera and held it on my thumb for ages. It didn't even stay pink, let alone hurt. It was great.
Don't worry about how your fingers look. I'm sure people will be judging you for your dancing, not your fingers.

Aww.... I'm really sorry for you! *Is hoping you feel better soon and wishing you good luck in your audition!* Truly, I think you'll do great. :)

Burns suck! I melted part of my right thumb and index finger on a hot tin can once, while burning some papers from work. There's something to be said for forgetting that the tin can had fire in it, and grabbing it to move it. (cool)
I don't know how bad the burn is, but perhaps a trip to a walk-in care clinic might be in order? They could give you something to help soothe the burn.

Aww, thanks everyone, you make me smile! The audition went great if anyone cares and I quite possibly am being considered for Essie (the show is You can't take it with you). yayy!
Still spazzing about dress rehersal and the show because the students running it are really annoying and like to yell a lot at the stupidest stuff! Oh well.
And to all those who shared their own experiences, I feel your/their pain and that sucks. Mousie, oh dear. That would drive me nuts... :( Dang cow...
Again, thanks. You seriously made my day. :)
