Alright, so I'm making giant outlines for my finals and I noticed I always use " | " that thingy right there. I have no idea what it's called but I just about only use it when I'm making text look pretty for RP purposes [or something to that effect] or writing outlines [to seperate ideas that sort of still go in the same bullet point].

Does anyone know what it is actually for?

I always called it a bar without actually knowing what it was, but now that I've looked it up, I know it's called a "vertical bar," among other things. Whoo, I was close! :D

According to Wikipedia it's used in mathematical equations and stuff. So. There ya go.

That was just as educational for you as it was for me.
