I can be creative at times, but with this one, I'm not. The board is going to be for an RPG based off the .hack animes/games. I'm not sure what a good name would be. If I simply called it "The World", that would be too unoriginal as that's the name of the MMO. So, anyone who is good at coming up with names, please help. And, read on for those who don't know what .hack is:

Setting: Future (IRL), Fantasy/Medieval (In-game)
About: The World is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game that has sold over 20 million copies, and continues to grow. Players from all around the world create characters from several classes, and once done, they begin questing and levelling up to try and become one of the game's strongest players.
Races: Humans, Monsters (NPC)

I know of .hack. I couldn't get through the first game. It just wasn't my style, eurgh. :no:

Since it's an anime, why don't you first go look at names that have a Japanese kind of feel? I have little grasp of the language, so pardon me if this is way off... Blame it on the English to Japanese (& vice versa) dictionary if you want to. :O

Seken - World, society. This is a good tip off. Perhaps a name like .hack//seken works for you?
Yochi - Earth, some other hooplar, world. .hack//yochi doesn't flow to me, sounds too "hard", if that's the word for it.
Ba-Charu - Very iffy on this one. Comes out as virtual. .hack//ba-charu sounds a little rough, imo.
Itonami - Work, life. Cutesy; I like it, but it may not work, depending on the kind of edge you want your roleplay to have. .hack//itonami?
Jinsei - This world, life, benevolent rule, human nature, humanism, instinct, humanity, life (i.e. conception to death). Mebbe? .hack//jinsei?

But then you've got the fine group of people who like to look down on sites that have Japanese sounding names. It's not because the site's title is in Japanese, don't get me wrong, it's because of the majority of so-called otakus that use the language to be "leet/1337/l33t/[insert another variation thereof]". :/

Latin seems to be very popular these days. This, in my opinion, would be your second best bet. I wouldn't get too far out there with names since this is a site that has been based off of a Japanese anime/manga/video game series. A French name wouldn't make very much sense unless there was a good tie-in offered by your site. It's my observation, so you're free to have another opinion other than mine on this issue~. :):

Mundus - World, universe or clean, neat, elegant. .hack//mundus Sounds kind of mundane. XD
Vita - World or life, way of life. .hack//vita. Sounds playful while still hinting at a darker side. Then again, it also reminds me of a certain song...

Well, now that I've read through your ideas, I've got one name for the board/RPG, but I'm still not sure what to go with; the name is .hack//dawn, and it's supposed to be the opposite of .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, which is also known as .hack//dusk. Tell me what you think.
