Okay, so this is basically x-posted on the phpbb community forum but I have yet to get a response out of them. I have read the Information provided by PHPBB on the upgrade (that is actually a transfer and not an upgrade) but these are still outstanding for me. SO, I know there are people here who have converted boards already or who are getting ready to go live. So, I have some questions!

Currently, I have a forum installed directly onto a subdomain. mementomori.anally-retentive.net. I'm curious as to whether or not I should upload the phpbb3 to, say: mementomori.anally-retentive.net/phpbb3/ or if it would have to go onto my main url, for example: anally-retentive.net/mementomori2. Or is this an either/or thing? Also in relation to this, I'm aiming to use a new database, although this is dependent on my host, as I don't have CP access myself.

If I did convert, I would be looking to run the phpbb3 board from the mementomori.anally-retentive.net location, as opposed to that url /phpbb3. What's the best way to go about doing that?

I will be uploading to a new location on a temporary basis, converting over and putting the skin(s) back in place before I'd want to completely replace the phpbb2. I don't really mind if I don't have to, it's just a bit of a pain to have two forums running simultaneously, with one saying, 'oi! don't post here, silly person, post over there --> (url here)' Okay, slightly strange, I am, but you get the idea : )

I'd advise waiting until tomorrow or the end of the week and see if they put something up on how to do that. It's officially released tomorrow.
