Okay I've completely FAILED in trying to have a sidebar it just messes up with the skin I've got so I decided to opt for a erm on-the-top bar? I've seen other boards with all their info [in my case rpg info] across the top of the board underneath the header/banner. I'm looking for something sorta like that, I'm not sure is there a code for it? Better seen than explained I want resembles a sidebar where I have the blue text currently on my board here.

Sidebars are overrated ;] I prefer announcement boxes anyway.

There's a massive list of them here, although since this is the old support board, many of them might not work. And I'm not sure but you might have to log in.

Are you looking for a bar with one box, two boxes, three boxes, or more? It's easy to make them if you know how to make tables, you just have to know the css tag to set the background of the top bar as the same as all your other bars. (Which, I could easily find that for you if you want.)
