I catch a ride with my Dad to school every day-- his office and my university are about ten, twenty minutes apart and it saves me the parking fees. However, it also means that I am stuck within the city with no way to get home until classes are over for the day.

Today I left my purse on the kitchen counter. I have no ID, cell phone, mp3 player, or-- most importantly-- wallet. Which means no lunch. No bus fare. No checking out books from the library, or printing things out, or going upstairs in the Union Building because occasionally they see if you have your ID. Thank god I didn't have an exam today; I would've been royally fucked. Now I'm just hungry and upset-- thankfully there's a free bus going to the place I need to be today.

Lesson learned: pack spare school ID and a $20 in backpack.

What's the worst thing you ever forgot?

Oooh, I did something semi-similar years ago before I had my license and took the bus home from community college.

My mom would drive me to school, and I'd ride the bus home. One day I forgot money to get home, and I forgot my cell phone. >_> I had some spare change, but the thing is I had to make a tough decision on what to do with that change.

I could either a.) use it to make a phone call to my mom at work and ask her to pick me up during her break hours later (it was just the right amount for a single phone call, of course!), or b.) I could save it and beg people for spare change and hope people are generous and I get enough to get home. XD

I chose option b.) and played beggar for a while. I didn't get any change, but eventually some really, really wonderfully nice girl stopped and gave me what I needed to get home. <333 I wanted to hug her.

I've never been in as bad of a predicament as you seem to be now, but I certainly know how that sucks! XD
