We on RPG-Directory wish to help you in every possible way. But you must remember we do not have an official Support Team. And so, at times we might not be able to answer your questions.
However, there are a few guidelines you must keep in mind when you ask or give support.
Asking for Support- First of all, be as descriptive as possible when asking support. Explain your problem the best you can. Do not put things like 'My board doesn't work, help me.' But describe the problem, when did your board stop working? Are you still able to see your forums, or do you get an error? Does the forum just not load anymore? I think you catch what I mean with this!
- Next to being as descriptive as you can be, also use proper english. Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. If you use chat language, we won't be able to understand you, and your topic will be thrashed.
- If it is neccessary (and the board is not yet open), include a link to your board or part of the board (where the problem is located). Or provide a screenshot
- Your questions can be about any forum host (IF, PB etc.), but do remember our main knowledge is still that of Invisionfree.
Providing Support- When you want to provide support, be sure to know what you are talking about. Put some effort in giving support, and not give them a quick anwser that might not help them much.
- You should never ask a member to provide a login name and password to get into the Admin CP. Asking for an account/password, even it it's a normal member account, is strictly forbidden.
- If you do not know the answer to a question, do not post in the topic, simple as that
- If there are replies in a thread, read over them before posting yourself, the topic might already be sovled.
- Use proper english. Grammar, spelling and punctuation. Chat language is not allowed.
- Back-seat moderating is very annoying, and is not done here. This is when you post an answer for instance, and you say that the question has been solved and the topic could be locked. The question is solved when the thread starter says so.
- Respect every member who is asking support. Flaming or insulting a member in any way is forbidden.
We do not want to scare you away from helping other members. We simply want to keep this board open for everybody, and for everybody to ask support.
Thank you for reading,
